Pakistan shines at Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026; Climate Change Team secures first position

Pakistan has secured a major achievement at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, where the team “Climate Change and Environmental Crisis” won first position in the innovative competition organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme “INNOVERSE 50+: For a Resilient Future.”

ISLAMABAD, Aug 31 (APP):Pakistan has secured a major achievement at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026, where the team “Climate Change and Environmental Crisis” won first position in the innovative competition organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme “INNOVERSE 50+: For a Resilient Future.”
Ms. Jabbina Fawwad, Program Officer at OIC-COMSTECH, represented Pakistan at the Kazan Global Youth Summit 2026 as a member of the winning team.
The competition brought together more than 100 young participants, who were required to develop, submit and present innovative ideas before a jury.
The winning team comprised five young participants representing Pakistan, Malaysia, Turkiye, Algeria and Russia.
The team’s innovative idea focused on climate change and environmental challenges and earned the top position, highlighting the importance of youth-led innovation and international collaboration in addressing global environmental crises.
As part of the award, the winning team members also received the opportunity to benefit from free Coursera courses and free Gini courses, further supporting their professional and innovative development.
Coordinator General OIC-COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, congratulated Ms. Jabbina Fawwad and her fellow team members on the outstanding achievement.
He appreciated their innovative approach, teamwork and commitment to addressing critical global challenges, and expressed hope that their success would inspire more young people from OIC member states to participate in international innovation and youth leadership platforms.
