The Sindh government has decided to distribute Pink Electric Scooties in Mirpurkhas in the next phase. 

KARACHI, Aug 30 (APP): The Sindh government has decided to distribute Pink Electric Scooties in Mirpurkhas in the next phase.
     Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that more than 50,000 women have so far applied for Pink Electric Scooties and the training program, which is clear proof of women’s keen interest in this initiative of the Sindh government.
    He said that the Sindh government has provided driving and related training to more than 2,000 women so far, while the training process is ongoing in various cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas and Shaheed Benazirabad.
    The government aims to enable as many women as possible to drive scooties safely, helping facilitate their mobility and enabling them to play a more active role in economic and social activities.
    Sharjeel Inam Memon said that 925 scooties were allocated in the first phase of the program and 476 in the second phase, while more than 810 scooties have so far been distributed free of cost to women. These include 410 in Karachi, 200 in Sukkur and 200 in Hyderabad. He said that the Sindh government is expanding the program to different areas of the province, and Pink Electric Scooties will be distributed in Mirpurkhas during the next phase.
     Memon said that the main objective of the Pink Electric Scooty Program is to empower women by providing them with freedom of movement, self-confidence and economic opportunities.
    The Sindh government is continuing to take practical steps to provide women with dignified and safe transportation facilities while enabling them to become more independent.
