Punjab Ombudsman completes 30 years, Reaffirms commitment to Public Service

RAWALPINDI, Aug 30 (APP): A ceremony was held at the Regional Office Rawalpindi to mark the completion of 30 years since the establishment of the Punjab Ombudsman, with former MNA and Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Home Zamurd Khan attending as the chief guest.

Former Advisor to the Provincial Ombudsman Punjab Tariq Javed Malik, representatives of the Rawalpindi Traders Association, district administration officials and advisors from the regional offices of Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Talagang and Murree also attended the ceremony.

The event highlighted the Punjab Ombudsman’s three-decade journey of public service and its achievements in addressing citizens’ complaints and resolving administrative grievances.

Speakers appreciated the institution’s role in providing citizens with speedy, affordable and effective justice, addressing administrative injustices and promoting transparency, accountability and good governance in public institutions.

Welcoming the guests, the Regional Advisor said the Punjab Ombudsman had played an important role over the past 30 years in resolving public complaints and providing timely relief to citizens facing administrative injustice.

He also paid tribute to the officers and staff of the institution for their hard work, dedication and commitment to public service.

Reaffirming the commitment that the Punjab Ombudsman would continue playing an effective role in protecting citizens’ rights and promoting good governance, transparency and accountability in government departments.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to highlight the institution’s services and achievements over the past three decades and renew its commitment to providing more effective, transparent and timely services to the public in the future.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to mark the 30th anniversary of the Punjab Ombudsman, followed by a vote of thanks to all distinguished guests and participants.
