Under the special interest and initiatives of Inspector General Pakistan Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan, 73 recently recruited Probationer Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of the Railways Police have been sent to the Elite Police Training Centre, Bedian, Lahore, for an eight-week specialized Orientation Course for the first time in the history of the department.
Railways Police sends 73 probationer ASIs for Elite Specialized Training
LAHORE, Aug 30 (APP): Under the special interest and initiatives of Inspector General Pakistan Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan, 73 recently recruited Probationer Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of the Railways Police have been sent to the Elite Police Training Centre, Bedian, Lahore, for an eight-week specialized Orientation Course for the first time in the history of the department.
According to a Railways Police spokesperson on Sunday, the specialized training programme aims to enhance the professional capabilities of Railways Police officers, particularly in dealing with modern security challenges, responding to emergencies and ensuring effective protection of passengers, railway installations and train operations across the country.
The training will also contribute towards strengthening security arrangements for train operations in Balochistan, where the railway network and train services face particular security challenges. Officers equipped with modern policing, tactical and security skills will be better prepared to respond to emerging threats and ensure the safe and secure movement of trains and passengers.
The 73 Probationer ASIs will undergo eight weeks of intensive professional training at the Elite Police Training Centre, Bedian. This marks the first time in the history of the Railways Police that such a specialized Orientation Course has been arranged specifically for Probationer ASIs.
The expenses of the specialized training course will be borne by the Railways Police Training Fund to ensure quality professional training in accordance with modern policing and security requirements.
On the occasion, IG Railways Police Muhammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan said that quality training was fundamental to developing the professional capabilities of officers and preparing them to effectively perform their duties in the field.
He said all available resources would be utilized to provide officers and personnel of the Railways Police with the best possible training, adding that there would be no compromise on the quality of training.
The IG Railways Police further stated that professionally trained officers would play a vital role in improving the overall performance of the department and strengthening the security of passengers, railway installations and train operations throughout the country.
He emphasized that, particularly in view of the prevailing security situation and recent incidents of terrorism, modern and specialized training had become essential for the Railways Police. He added that the enhanced capabilities of trained officers would help the department respond more effectively to security threats and ensure safer train operations, particularly on sensitive routes in Balochistan.
