City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has taken notice of a video showing a police constable allegedly subjecting a citizen to abusive behavior and physical violence at Gujar Khan Police Station.
CPO takes notice of constable’s alleged assault on citizen at Gujar Khan Police Station
RAWALPINDI, Aug 30 (APP): City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera has taken notice of a video showing a police constable allegedly subjecting a citizen to abusive behavior and physical violence at Gujar Khan Police Station.
Following the emergence of the video, the CPO ordered the immediate suspension and “close line” of Constable Ehtesham and directed that a charge sheet be issued against him.
CPO Sukhera also instructed the Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident and submit a report.
The CPO made it clear that violence, mistreatment or any form of misconduct against citizens by police personnel would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He emphasized that police officers were responsible for protecting citizens and maintaining the rule of law and that disciplinary action would be taken against personnel found involved in misconduct.
