OIC bodies commend Investment Minister for visionary leadership and support
ISLAMABAD, Aug 30 (APP):Two prominent institutions of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) have commended the Minister for Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh for promoting global investment, technology and economic collaboration across the Muslim world.
In separate letters addressed to Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, both the organization lauded his proactive leadership, visionary engagement, and steadfast support in promoting global investment, technology, and economic collaboration across the Muslim world, said a press release issued by the BOI here on Sunday.
In an official letter, the Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, Professor Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, expressed profound gratitude to Federal Minister for his active participation and impactful addresses at the Global South Innovation & Investment Summit (held on August 3–7, 2026) and the International Education Summit & Expo (held on August 19–20, 2026), jointly organized with CITADEL and ICCD.
He commended the minister for steering constructive, forward-looking discussions and sharing valuable insights drawn from his extensive professional experience.
He emphasized that the minister’s consistent dedication to advancing science, technology, innovation, and international investment has significantly bolstered COMSTECH’s initiatives while enhancing Pakistan’s positive image globally.
The Coordinator General reiterated COMSTECH’s commitment to seeking continued guidance to highlight Pakistan’s scientific and technological potential across OIC member and observer states.
In a separate communication, the Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), Yousef Hassan Khalawi, conveyed sincere appreciation and high esteem to Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh for his exceptional warmth, generosity, and continued partnership with ICCD.
The ICCD Secretary General specifically acknowledged the Minister’s participation in ICCD events and the hospitality extended to him, including a dinner hosted in his honor.
Mr. Khalawi highlighted that at a time when investment promotion and private-sector facilitation are vital for sustainable growth, Minister Sheikh’s stewardship of the Board of Investment reflects a strong commitment to positioning Pakistan as an attractive international investment hub while consolidating economic ties with Islamic countries.
He noted that recent interactions have laid a robust foundation for enduring institutional cooperation to accelerate trade, business integration, and private-sector development across OIC nations.
