ISLAMABAD, Aug 29 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Saturday, termed transformation of Pakistan’s image, strengthening of economy and diplomatic achievements as miraculous, owing to the sincere and relentless efforts of the incumbent government.
Addressing a gathering of Pakistani diaspora in London, the DPM/FM said Pakistan played historic role in bringing the waring counties during Gulf conflict to a negotiating table, leading to the signing of Islamabad MoU.
About the continuous tensions, he reiterated that Pakistan was still trying to find out a permanent solution to the issue on cooperation of other key countries.
Dar also lauded Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing the leadership role during the whole crisis.
“Pakistan is now known as the peacemaker,” he added.
The DPM/FM, in his address broadcast on national Tv channels, reiterated the joint Makkah Agreement among Pakistan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkiye had been defensive in nature, and it was not against anyone. The aim is to combine strategy for regional stability.
He informed that an inaugural meeting of the three countries would be soon held to deliberate upon its structure and framework as several other countries were aspiring to join the agreement.
Dar also appreciated the role of Pakistani diaspora and urged them to conduct financial transactions through the Pakistani banks to further contribute to the national economy.
The economy stability was achieved and further steps were being taken to attain economic growth with per capita increased, and life standard improved, he said, adding the country which was once predicted to default, the government proved with drastic measures that there were no more economic threats looming over it.
About Pakistani nationals held hostage by the Somalian pirates, he said that he had held positive interactions with the relevant authorities and counterparts.
The DPM/FM also termed his visit to the UK and his meetings with the British counterparts and authorities very encouraging, adding that both sides agreed to further enhance their bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, IT and other sectors.
The DPM/FM also advised the office bearers and workers of the PML-N to promote tolerance, forgiveness and concentrate upon strengthening of the country’s economy.
