PSX turns bullish, gains over 373 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned bullish on Friday, gaining 373.73 points, a positive change of 0.21 percent, to close at 177,696.51 points against 177,322.78 points recorded in the previous trading session. 

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned bullish on Friday, gaining 373.73 points, a positive change of 0.21 percent, to close at 177,696.51 points against 177,322.78 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 658.327 million shares, compared to 614.057 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value declined to Rs31.454 billion from Rs34.547 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs19.885 trillion from Rs19.860 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 494 companies that traded in the ready market, 202 posted gains, 257 suffered losses, while 35 remained unchanged, reflecting a mixed trend in the market.
Bank of Punjab led the volume chart with 91.717 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 90.859 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 46.401 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Buxly Paints Limited surged by Rs69.63 to close at Rs765.93, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited advanced by Rs53.00 to settle at Rs9,300.00.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited declined by Rs429.22 to close at Rs25,531.36, while Ismail Industries Limited fell by Rs35.49 to Rs1,864.00.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 859.712 million shares with a traded value of Rs34.758 billion, compared with 500.394 million shares worth Rs27.033 billion in the previous session.
Of the 309 companies traded in the DFC market, 91 advanced, 217 declined and one remained unchanged.
