Chief Minister reaffirms commitment to peace, development, and public welfare

QUETTA, Aug 27 (APP): The 28th meeting of the Hardening of the State Conference on Thursday reviewed the province’s overall situation, including law and order, development progress, public welfare initiatives, and coordination between federal and provincial institutions.

The Hardening of the State Conference held here under the joint chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and the Corps Commander Quetta, Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan.

The participants reiterated their commitment to ensuring Balochistan’s bright future, timely completion of development projects, and provision of better facilities to citizens.

The meeting emphasized strengthening joint efforts of provincial and federal institutions and security forces, enhancing coordination, and adopting further measures in the province’s larger interest.

A key decision was taken to activate the Safe City Project in Quetta and other major areas in phases, which was termed an important step for citizen protection, improved surveillance systems, and effective use of modern technology.

Addressing the meeting, CM Bugti said that these sessions are held regularly every three weeks, producing positive results in terms of peace and stability. He explained that the purpose of the meetings is to review implementation of previous decisions, identify challenges, and adopt integrated strategies for solutions.

Bugti noted that regular meetings have improved institutional coordination and created continuity in peace and stability efforts.

The Chief Minister stressed that sustainable peace, development, and public prosperity are interconnected, and the government is determined to ensure both stability and timely completion of development projects along with provision of basic facilities. He urged all institutions to fulfill their responsibilities effectively and avoid unnecessary delays in public-interest projects.

The meeting was attended by representatives of federal and provincial departments and security forces. Participants discussed the province’s security situation, ongoing measures, and future strategies.

During the session, successful intelligence-based operations against terrorists linked to “Fitna al Hindustan” earlier this month were acknowledged, with tributes paid to the professional performance and sacrifices of security forces. The participants praised the determination and effective actions of the forces against terrorism and emphasized the need for further coordination in ongoing peace efforts.

It was agreed that for the sake of Balochistan’s peace, development, and public prosperity, effective communication and cooperation between federal and provincial institutions and security forces must be further strengthened.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation that all available resources will be utilized to protect citizens’ lives and property, promote stability, accelerate development, and ensure public welfare across the province.
