KARACHI, Aug 27 (APP): The Governor of Sindh, Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, said on Thursday that helping deserving children secure an education is an investment in a brighter future.
He emphasized that along with the government, it is the responsibility of prominent individuals, philanthropists, and welfare organizations to support needy children and eliminate obstacles to their learning.
The Governor spoke as the chief guest at a ceremony organized by the Kachi Kumbhar Khidmat-e-Khalq Welfare Association to distribute uniforms, shoes, bags, and other essential items to schoolchildren.
The Governor stated that if every capable individual takes on the responsibility of educating just one child according to their means, the future of thousands of children can be improved. Education is a means that forms the foundation of progress not only for an individual but for the entire society.
Mentioning the “Youth Digital Hub” app launched under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, the Governor of Sindh said that through this platform, youth will have access to various opportunities for education, employment, and economic empowerment all in one place.
The app provides facilities including scholarships, business loans, jobs, skill development, and technical training, enabling young people to utilize their potential more effectively.
Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi said that providing children and youth in Lyari with quality education, skills, and modern technology opportunities is a crucial need of the time. Lyari holds a unique identity not only because of its historical past but also because of its talented, hardworking, and courageous youth.
He noted that the special interest of Lyari’s youth in football, boxing, athletics, and other sports is remarkable. Numerous male and female athletes from Lyari have brought pride to the country and the nation by demonstrating outstanding performance at national and international levels in various sports.
Appreciating the social and welfare services of the Kachi Kumbhar Khidmat-e-Khalq Welfare Association, the Governor of Sindh said that such initiatives to help the deserving segments of society, especially for children’s education, are commendable.
He urged welfare organizations, philanthropists, and prominent members of society to step forward and play their role in this noble cause.
He reiterated that if every capable individual takes on the responsibility of educating one child according to their means, the future of thousands of children can be secured, and positive change can be brought to society.
President of the Kachi Kumbhar Khidmat-e-Khalq Welfare Association, Muhammad Rafiq Mara, stated that the association distributed school uniforms, bags, shoes, and other essential items to approximately 3,000 deserving male and female students.
