IUB student secures first position in National Seerat Essay Competition
BAHAWALPUR, Aug 27 (APP):The Seerat Chair, Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), organized a seminar on the occasion of Rabi-ul-Awwal on the theme, “Preservation, Construction and Character of the New Generation in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).”
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran chaired the seminar, while Vice President Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi Dr. Mufti Muhammad Zubair Ashraf Usmani delivered a lecture highlighting the role of Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) in the intellectual, moral and character development of the younger generation.
Dean Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiq-ur-Rehman and Director Seerat Chair Prof. Dr. Hafiz Shafiq-ur-Rehman thanked the Vice Chancellor and the distinguished guest for their participation and support.
Meanwhile, MPhil student of the Department of Hadith, IUB, Fariha Rashid secured first position at the national level in a Seerat essay competition organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.
She was presented with the award and prize by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at a ceremony held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad, on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
University officials congratulated Fariha Rashid on her achievement and termed it a significant academic and national honour for the Department of Hadith and IUB.
