Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed on Thursday commended police officers and personnel for ensuring foolproof security and maintaining peace during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations across the province.

PESHAWAR, Aug 27 (APP):Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed on Thursday commended police officers and personnel for ensuring foolproof security and maintaining peace during Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations across the province.
In a statement issued by the Central Police Office Peshawar after the peaceful conclusion of the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations, the IGP thanked people from all walks of life, particularly religious scholars, for their cooperation in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.
He also appreciated the role of relevant departments, peace committees, traders, and representatives of print and electronic media for extending full cooperation to the police and other law enforcement agencies in ensuring that the celebrations were held peacefully and in an atmosphere of religious harmony and brotherhood.
The IGP praised KP police officers and personnel for their professionalism, courage, dedication and tireless efforts, saying their round-the-clock duties ensured that the Rabi-ul-Awwal programmes concluded without any untoward incident.
He said the police had made great sacrifices and demonstrated courage and a strong sense of duty in maintaining peace across the province and would continue to perform their responsibilities with the same commitment and dedication.
The IGP also appreciated religious scholars for highlighting the significance of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal in their sermons and extending full cooperation to the police and local administration.
He said it was a matter of pride that despite numerous challenges and security threats, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated peacefully across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with traditional religious fervour and enthusiasm.
