A delegation of 42 trainee officers of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) visited the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh as part of a study tour.

KARACHI, Aug 26 (APP): A delegation of 42 trainee officers of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) visited the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh as part of a study tour.
Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh Ijaz Anwar Chohan welcomed the trainee officers and briefed them on the functions of the Election Commission and its constitutional and legal responsibilities.
The officers were given detailed briefings on electoral affairs at the provincial level and the day-to-day working of the Election Commission. They were also apprised of the administrative structure of the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh and the responsibilities of its various departments.
The trainee officers were further briefed on coordination with Regional and District Election Commissioners and the mechanism for monitoring electoral affairs.
Addressing the trainee officers, Ijaz Anwar Chohan said becoming part of the Election Commission was an important national responsibility as well as an honour.
He urged the officers to understand different stages of the electoral process and the practical working procedures of the institution. He advised them to discharge their responsibilities efficiently and in accordance with the Constitution and law.
The trainee officers also visited different blocks and departments of the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh and obtained information from concerned officials about electoral affairs and office procedures.
On the occasion, Provincial Election Commissioner Ijaz Anwar Chohan presented an honorary shield to Director General Gender and Social Inclusion/Training Nighat Siddiq.
The trainee officers were also presented with traditional Sindhi caps and Ajraks in accordance with the cultural traditions of Sindh.
