Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday underscored the importance of education, saying Islam places special emphasis on acquiring knowledge and that modern education is indispensable for progress in the contemporary world.

NOWSHERA, Aug 26 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday underscored the importance of education, saying Islam places special emphasis on acquiring knowledge and that modern education is indispensable for progress in the contemporary world.
Addressing a Parents’ Day ceremony at Jamia Dar-ul-Huda in Hakimabad, Nowshera, the Governor said knowledge transforms lives and serves as a key driver of social development. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa possessed immense talent and students should be provided with opportunities to excel.
He said the students of Jamia Dar-ul-Huda were fortunate to be receiving both religious and modern education, and appreciated the institution’s contributions to educational and religious services.
He urged students to continue striving for knowledge throughout their lives and dedicate their energies to education, adding that true success lay not only in acquiring education but also in serving humanity.
The Governor said nations that had invested in education had earned a distinguished place in the world, urging students to adopt knowledge, character and hard work as guiding principles for a brighter future.
Later, talking to media, the Governor commented on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s decision to join the opposition, terming it a positive political development. However, he expressed regret over the inappropriate language previously used by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders against the JUI-F chief.
He said political differences should not lead to personal attacks or offensive remarks.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the people of the province had rendered immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, which deserved national recognition.
He said police personnel were performing their duties under difficult circumstances while receiving inadequate salaries, stressing the need to increase their pay and address their problems by providing the facilities required for effective performance of their responsibilities.
