Rawalpindi administration, police review security for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions

RAWALPINDI, Aug 26 (APP):Senior officers of the Rawalpindi Police and district administration on Wednesday visited various procession routes across the city to evaluate security protocols, traffic management, and civic arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani, City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera and Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir inspected the operational setups on-ground.

During the visit, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations briefed the executive leadership on deployment strategies, static pickets, and route clearances.

The officials also met with members of the Central Peace Committee and Seerat Committee to discuss field coordination and maintain civic harmony during the celebrations.

As part of the inspection, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa and CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera visited the Central Control Room and the Safe City Authority headquarters to review real-time monitoring of procession routes via high-definition CCTV surveillance networks.

CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said that comprehensive security and traffic mechanisms have been deployed citywide, backed by continuous electronic monitoring. He highlighted that over 4,500 police and traffic officers have been deployed on duty, with senior commanders supervising operations directly from the field to safeguard citizens and maintain traffic flow.

RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa reiterated that foolproof security arrangements are active across the division in full compliance with the code of conduct issued by the Government of Punjab. A police spokesperson added that continuous monitoring of sensitive locations and primary routes remains active throughout the event.
