RAWALPINDI, Aug 26 (APP):The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and District Cricket Association (DCA) Rawalpindi Inter-Club T20 Tournament Season 2026-27 is set to commence on Thursday, with 80 cricket clubs from across the district competing for top honors.
DCA Rawalpindi Secretary Zulfiqar Ali told APP that tournament matches would be hosted across various grounds in Rawalpindi, with 16 teams taking the field on the opening day. The tournament opener would feature Bajwa Cricket Club against United Cricket Club.
To a question, he outlined that the participating 80 teams have been divided into 20 groups of four teams each, with every side playing three league matches before qualifying teams advance to the knockout stage.
He assured that organizational discipline, transparency, and operational standards would be strictly maintained throughout the event to provide maximum competitive exposure to local players.
DCA Rawalpindi President, Naveed Mushtaq Abbasi highlighted that the primary objective of organizing the tournament was to deliver a structured and competitive platform for young athletes while revitalizing grassroots cricket across the district. He expressed confidence that the event would help identify and nurture emerging regional talent.
