Safdar directs improvement of sanitation operations in Taxila
RAWALPINDI, Aug 24 (APP):Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA), Rawalpindi, Rana Sajid Safdar, visited Taxila Tehsil and reviewed sanitation operations, waste management, dump site arrangements, fleet, transfer collection points (TCPs) and attendance of field workers in urban and rural areas.
During the visit, Safdar inspected sanitation arrangements at Khanpur Bypass, Margalla, Mohra Shah Wali Shah dump site, TCP at Garhi Sikandar compound, Garhi Afghan Union Council 118, Sarai Khola, Ratta Shah-Taxila GT Road and Dongi Gali.
He checked workers’ attendance and field presence, waste lifting, dump site arrangements, and TCP operations. He also reviewed drain desilting, road and street cleaning and waste removal in different areas.
Safdar directed the concerned officers to further improve cleanliness standards in both urban and rural areas and said that no negligence in sanitation operations would be tolerated.
The MD said field workers were the mainstay of sanitation operations and stressed the need for effective monitoring of their attendance, field presence and daily performance.
Safdar also interacted with citizens and shopkeepers in Taxila, listened to their sanitation-related complaints and suggestions and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officers.
He said the objective of the Suthra Punjab Programme was to provide citizens with a clean, healthy and better environment, for which continuity and effective monitoring of field operations were essential.
