PM reaffirms commitment to strengthen ties with Malaysia

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Minister of Home Affairs of Malaysia Dato’ Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, on Friday.
Welcoming the Malaysian Home Minister, the Prime Minister conveyed his warm wishes for Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, and inquired about his health, while wishing him an early recovery.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening the close and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Malaysia across all spheres, including security, law enforcement, as well as trade and investment.
The regional situation was also discussed during the meeting. In this context, the Prime Minister appreciated Malaysia’s support for Pakistan’s regional peace efforts.
The Malaysian Home Minister conveyed the greetings of his prime minister to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and expressed Malaysia’s keen desire to further strengthen its robust ties with Pakistan.
The Prime Minister also witnessed the signing of the Agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons between the two countries, signed between the Home Minister of Malaysia and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
Deputy Prime Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, SAPM Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials were also present during the meeting.
