PFF conducts second batch of Safeguarding Training for DFC Focal Persons

The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has continued its safeguarding training programme for District Safeguarding Focal Persons ahead of the District Football Championship (DFC) 2026, with the second batch of participants completing a dedicated online safeguarding session.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has continued its safeguarding training programme for District Safeguarding Focal Persons ahead of the District Football Championship (DFC) 2026, with the second batch of participants completing a dedicated online safeguarding session.
The three-batch training programme brings together nominated Safeguarding Focal Persons from different districts across Pakistan, with representatives participating in each batch to ensure comprehensive preparation ahead of the championship, said a press release.
The initiative is being conducted as part of the PFF President Syed Mohsen Gilani’s commitment to strengthening safeguarding structures and ensuring a safe, respectful and inclusive environment throughout DFC 2026.
The second batch focused on helping District Safeguarding Focal Persons understand their roles and responsibilities, recognise safeguarding concerns, and implement appropriate safeguarding measures within their respective districts during the championship.
The COO of Pakistan Football Federation Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar warmly welcomed all participants who joined the session as District Safeguarding Focal Persons. His encouraging remarks highlighted the importance of safeguarding and the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to protect players and participants.
Fatima Esha, SAFF Safeguarding Coordinator, also delivered a welcome note and introduced participants to the fundamental concept of safeguarding. She explained what safeguarding means, why it is essential in football, and the importance of safeguarding in line with FIFA’s safeguarding principles and guidelines.
The session was further led by Ms. Arooj Sohail, Safeguarding Officer, Pakistan Football Federation, who explained the safeguarding protocols and procedures to be followed during DFC 2026. She provided participants with practical guidance on implementing safeguarding measures in accordance with FIFA guidelines, including identifying potential risks, responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, and following the established reporting and response mechanisms.
The interactive session also allowed participants from different districts to discuss practical challenges and consider how safeguarding standards can be effectively implemented within their respective football environments.
With Batch Two now completed, the PFF Safeguarding Department continues its preparations for the remaining training session, ensuring that District Safeguarding Focal Persons across Pakistan are equipped with the knowledge, awareness and practical tools required to support safeguarding throughout DFC 2026.
