Pesco launches crackdown against electricity theft facilitators
PESHAWAR, Aug 21 (APP): As per the directives of Chief Executive Officer PESCO Engr. Akhtar Hamid Khan, SE Peshawar Circle Engr. Arbab Farooq and XEN City Rural Division Peshawar Engr. Fida Khan, SDO Sethi Town Sub Division Engr. Muhammad Rizwan along with police conducted a major anti-theft and recovery operation at Shumal Ghaara, Qazi Kali on 11 kV Dalazak Feeder.
During the operation, 05 transformers were disconnected due to 80% direct hook connections during night hours and heavy outstanding arrears.
Two private electricity theft facilitators, namely Baloch and his associate, who were providing illegal connections to consumers, were arrested on the spot and FIR has been registered.
PESCO management has made it clear that strict departmental and legal action will be taken against all electricity theft facilitators, whether they are departmental employees or private persons. No one will be spared. Facilitators will face FIR, dismissal from service, and heavy penalties.
The ongoing anti-theft and recovery campaign will continue with full force across all divisions without any discrimination till the complete elimination of Kunda culture.
