Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Friday signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the EU-China Commission to promote trade, investment, business collaboration and knowledge exchange, marking an important step toward strengthening international economic cooperation.

LAHORE, Aug 21 (APP): Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Friday signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the EU-China Commission to promote trade, investment, business collaboration and knowledge exchange, marking an important step toward strengthening international economic cooperation.
The joint chamber’s Vice President Amir Ali signed the MoU on behalf of PCJCCI.
The agreement aims to establish stronger institutional linkages and facilitate greater interaction among businesses, investors and industry stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Amir Ali said the MoU would provide a valuable platform for expanding business-to-business linkages and creating new opportunities for Pakistani and Chinese enterprises. He emphasized that enhanced cooperation could help businesses explore new markets, attract investment and develop mutually beneficial commercial partnerships.
A Chinese representative from EU China Commission said, the agreement reflected a shared commitment to strengthening economic and commercial cooperation. He highlighted the importance of closer engagement among businesses, investors and institutions and expressed confidence that the partnership would create new avenues for trade, investment and knowledge sharing.
Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI, said the MoU would help transform institutional cooperation into practical business opportunities. He stated that PCJCCI would facilitate joint industrial and trade exhibitions, B2B conferences, business delegations and exchange programmes to promote stronger commercial connections.
The agreement provides a framework for cooperation in several areas, including trade and investment, agriculture, culture, education, industrial exhibitions and business-to-business engagement. It also encourages delegation visits and exchange programmes aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and commercial cooperation.
The MoU further identifies opportunities in emergency and resilience industries, encouraging relevant Chinese enterprises to explore the Pakistani market and develop cooperation with local stakeholders.
Salahuddin Hanif added that PCJCCI would continue playing its role as a bridge between Pakistani, Chinese and international business communities by facilitating investment, technology and knowledge exchange.
The strategic agreement is expected to contribute to stronger economic partnerships, expanded market access and greater opportunities for businesses. It represents another step toward connecting Pakistan, China and Europe through enhanced trade, investment and institutional cooperation.
