The MoU was signed during the “Ibn Sina and Imam Razi Conference held at Alkhidmat Razi Hospital to pay tribute to the scientific and medical contributions of renowned Muslim physicians Abu Ali Al-Husayn Ibn Sina and Abu Bakr Muhammad Ibn Zakariya Al-Razi, said a press release here.

The conference, themed “Islamic Medicine and Home-Based Healthcare, was attended by doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
The event was jointly organised by Alkhidmat Razi Hospital, Ibn Sina Institute, World Aging Council and the Institute for AI and Digital Policy (IIADP).

Renowned Turkish gerontologist Dr Kemal Aydin, Founder and CEO of the Ibn Sina Institute and President of the World Aging Council, attended the conference as chief guest. Dr Aydin, an expert in elderly care, is also a graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore.
The conference began with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem of Pakistan.
Chairman Alkhidmat Razi Hospital Engineer Abu Umair Zahid welcomed Dr Aydin and other distinguished guests and participants. Medical Superintendent Dr Usman Zafar also addressed the conference.
In his keynote address, Dr Aydin highlighted the golden principles of Islamic medicine and their importance in modern healthcare. He spoke in detail about the growing need for home-based healthcare, particularly for elderly people and patients who require continued medical care without staying in a hospital.
Sharing his wide experience in elderly care, Dr Aydin also highlighted how modern technology could be used to improve healthcare services for senior citizens and make medical care at home more effective and accessible.
A key feature of the conference was the signing of the MoU between Alkhidmat Razi Hospital and Ibn Sina Institute for mutual cooperation under the Hospital at Home Programme. The agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in the field of home-based healthcare.
The conference also highlighted the legacy of Ibn Sina and Imam Razi, whose contributions to medicine and medical knowledge continue to hold importance centuries later, while linking their principles with present-day healthcare needs.
At the conclusion of the conference, souvenirs and honorary shields were presented to the distinguished guests. Chairman Alkhidmat Razi Hospital Engineer Abu Umair Zahid presented a souvenir to Dr Kemal Aydin.
