Suthra Punjab MD orders uninterrupted sanitation, drainage operations

RAWALPINDI, Aug 21 (APP): Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi Rana Sajid Safdar conducted visit for the second consecutive day to review sanitation and drainage arrangements across the city.
He visited Pirwadhai General Bus Stand, Nullah Lai, Murree Road and other areas of the city to inspect the ongoing zero-waste cleaning operation and reviewed arrangements made in view of the ongoing spell of rain.
Manager Operations District Rawalpindi Amir Younis Naik, Manager Operations City Syed Hassan Sardar and other operational officers and field staff accompanied the MD during the visit.
The concerned officers briefed Rana Sajid Safdar on sanitation operations, waste lifting, cleaning of drains and measures taken to ensure smooth drainage during rainfall.
Speaking on the occasion, the MD directed all operational staff to remain fully mobilised during the current spell of rain and ensure maximum relief to citizens regarding sanitation and drainage issues.
He stressed the need for immediate redressal of public complaints, directing officials not to keep any complaint pending.
He also ordered officials to make the zero-waste operation more effective and ensure that no garbage piles remained visible anywhere in the city.
Rana Sajid Safdar directed that drain-cleaning activities be continued without interruption to prevent blockages in the drainage system during rainfall.
He further ordered special attention to low-lying areas and directed officials to ensure the availability of additional workers and necessary machinery in such locations.
The MD instructed field staff to remain present in their respective areas during rainfall and resolve sanitation and drainage-related issues on the spot.
He said the prime objective of the Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi was to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment, adding that all officers and workers must perform their duties with dedication and a sense of responsibility.
He warned that negligence, laxity or irresponsibility in sanitation operations would not be tolerated and that strict action would be taken against officers and staff found negligent under a zero-tolerance policy.
Rana Sajid Safdar also directed field officers to ensure that sanitation and drainage operations continued without interruption during rainfall and that every possible measure was taken to provide relief to citizens.
