LAHORE, Aug 21 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone arrested three suspects in separate operations targeting copyright infringement and illegal internet operations.
According to an FIA spokesperson on Friday, authorities apprehended Waheed Gul and Muhammad Amin Saleem for violating the Copyright Act. During the raid, officials recovered a large quantity of counterfeit products belonging to a well-known registered company.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were illegally manufacturing and marketing products of the registered firm without acquiring the necessary legal authorization or permits.
In a separate operation, the FIA detained a suspect identified as Fazal Din for operating an unauthorized internet service. A case was registered against him under the provisions of the Pakistan Telecommunication Act.
During the raid, technical equipment and network hardware used to distribute the illegal internet connection were confiscated. A technical team from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) assisted the FIA personnel throughout the operation.
Further investigations against the arrested suspects were underway.
