ISLAMABAD, Aug 20 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday issued notices to the Secretary Interior and Inspector General of Islamabad Police seeking details of cases and inquiries registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Sher Afzal Marwat.
Justice Shah Rukh Arjumand heard the petition filed by the MNA seeking information about cases and inquiries pending against him.
During the proceedings, Advocate Adil Aziz Qazi, representing the petitioner, submitted that his client was a Member of the National Assembly as well as a Supreme Court lawyer.
He said several cases had been registered against the petitioner across the country in the past on political grounds.
The counsel maintained that the petitioner had always appeared before courts in person and pursued appropriate legal remedies.
He further alleged that officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) were harassing the petitioner.
The counsel requested the court to direct the authorities to provide details of all cases and inquiries against the petitioner and restrain them from arresting him in any unknown case or inquiry.
The court also issued notices to the FIA and NCCIA and sought their reports.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case until Monday.
