RAWALPINDI, Aug 20 (APP): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF)conducted seven operations in various cities and arrested 12 suspects, recovering 91.562 kilograms(kgs) of drugs worth more than Rs 14.2 million, an ANF spokesman said on Thursday.
At Islamabad International Airport, 362 grams of ice was recovered from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Jeddah and the suspect was arrested.
Near Khanozai in Pishin district, 72 kg of hashish was recovered from a truck, and the accused was arrested.
Near University Road, Peshawar, 10.8 kg of opium was seized from a vehicle, and three suspects were arrested.
In Sukkur, 500 grams of hashish was recovered from the possession of a suspect near Airport Road.
Near Ravi Toll Plaza, Lahore, 5.4 kg of heroin was recovered from a vehicle and three suspects were arrested.
Near Jamshoro Toll Plaza, 1.3 kg of ice was recovered from a vehicle and two suspects were arrested.
Near Islamabad Toll Plaza, 1.2 kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of a suspect.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is underway.
