Two people were killed and two others injured as heavy rains triggered the collapse of roofs and walls in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 17, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported on Thursday.

PESHAWAR, Aug 20 (APP): Two people were killed and two others injured as heavy rains triggered the collapse of roofs and walls in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since August 17, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) reported on Thursday.
According to the PDMA, the deceased included a man and a woman, while the injured were also a man and a woman.
The heavy rains also damaged eight houses, including five partially damaged and three completely destroyed, the PDMA said.
The incidents were reported in Abbottabad, Swat, Buner, Swabi and Lower South Waziristan districts.
The PDMA, Rescue 1122, district administrations and other relevant departments remain in coordination, with relief and response activities underway.
PDMA Director General urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, refrain from visiting vulnerable tourist destinations and follow weather alerts and advisories issued by the authorities.
The PDMA Emergency Operations Centre is fully operational.
