PHOTA budgets for FY 2025-26, FY 2026-27 approved

The revised budget estimate for the financial year 2025-26 and the budget estimate for 2026-27 of the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) were approved on Wednesday.

LAHORE, Aug 19 (APP): The revised budget estimate for the financial year 2025-26 and the budget estimate for 2026-27 of the Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority (PHOTA) were approved on Wednesday.
According to the Health Department, the budgets were approved during the 41st meeting of the PHOTA Monitoring Authority, chaired by Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. The minutes of the authority’s 40th meeting were also presented and approved.
Director General PHOTA Professor Dr Muhammad Amir Zaman Khan presented various agenda items for consideration and approval during the meeting.
The provincial minister and members of the Monitoring Authority congratulated Dean PKLI Professor Dr Faisal Saud Dar on receiving the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and expressed their best wishes for his future endeavours.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the capacity of PHOTA was being enhanced to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the people.
He said strict action was being taken against illegal human organ transplantation in Punjab, adding that the authority was playing an important role in saving thousands of human lives.
Professor Dr Muhammad Amir Zaman Khan said PHOTA was being developed on modern lines in accordance with the provincial government’s vision. He stressed that those involved in illegal human organ transplantation in Punjab would not be given any concession.
The meeting was attended by Additional Secretary Technical Dr Hafiz Muhammad Waseem, CEO Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr Saqib Aziz, President Pakistan Medical Association Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry, President Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan Lahore Chapter Professor Javed Chaudhry, Senior Research Officer National Health Research Complex Saima Naz Mohsin, Additional Secretary Home Department Abdul Rauf and other members.
Dean PKLI Professor Faisal Saud Dar also participated in the meeting through video link.
