Rubina Khalid calls for collective efforts to support vulnerable segments
ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid on Wednesday called for collective efforts to serve humanity, support people in distress and help deserving and vulnerable segments of society.
In her message on World Humanitarian Day, she said that humanitarianism was not merely an emotion but also meant taking practical steps to support the weaker and deserving sections of society.
Senator Rubina Khalid said that the Benazir Income Support Programme was pursuing the Government of Pakistan’s mission of providing social protection to deserving families.
She said BISP was playing an important role in helping millions of deserving families overcome economic difficulties by providing them financial assistance.
The BISP Chairperson stressed that deprived and vulnerable segments of society should not be left alone.
She said World Humanitarian Day reminded everyone of the responsibility to serve suffering humanity and extend a helping hand to those in need.
“Let us pledge that we will play our role in helping deserving people around us and protecting their rights,” she added.
