SARGODHA, Aug 19 (APP): Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shoukat Ali chaired a meeting of the Divisional Peace Committee at the Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday to review security and administrative arrangements for the peaceful observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi across the division.
According to the spokesperson for the Commissioner’s office here, the meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Sargodha Shehzad Asif Khan, Deputy Commissioners, District Police Officers, Regional Officer Special Branch, Regional Officer Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other relevant officials.
Officials and members from Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar participated through video link.
Ulema belonging to different schools of thought and members of the Peace Committee also attended the meeting and shared their suggestions for maintaining law and order, promoting religious harmony and strengthening brotherhood during the celebrations.
The participants reviewed in detail security arrangements for religious gatherings, processions and other events, including route monitoring, traffic management, security of sensitive locations and coordination between the district administration and police.
Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner directed all concerned departments to complete security and administrative arrangements well in advance.
He ordered special monitoring of religious gatherings, procession routes, mosques, imambargahs and other sensitive locations and stressed close coordination among all relevant institutions to ensure a peaceful environment for citizens.
The Commissioner called upon members of the Divisional Peace Committee to play a proactive role in promoting religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood.
He made it clear that negligence or any lapse in security and administrative arrangements would not be tolerated.
RPO Sargodha Shehzad Asif Khan said comprehensive and effective security arrangements would be ensured for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
He directed police officers to remain fully alert and perform their duties responsibly to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintain law and order.
On the occasion, the Ulema from different schools of thought assured the administration and police of their full cooperation in maintaining peace, religious tolerance and brotherhood.
They urged members of all communities to demonstrate responsibility and cooperation for the peaceful conduct of religious gatherings and processions.
