ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP):Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, in his message on World Humanitarian Day, paid tribute to humanitarian and aid workers around the world for their selfless services in difficult and dangerous circumstances.
The Federal Minister said that humanitarian workers were a shining example of humanity, compassion and selfless service. He appreciated their vital role in responding to natural disasters, emergencies and humanitarian crises.
Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasized that humanitarianism and respect for human dignity were a shared moral responsibility. He said that during crises, the fundamental rights of affected people must be protected, with women, children, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups given special priority.
He stressed that the state must ensure non-discriminatory protection for affected people during emergencies, adding that humanitarian assistance was not limited to immediate relief but also included dignity, protection, justice and rehabilitation.
The Federal Minister appreciated the contributions of state institutions, civil society organizations, medical personnel, volunteers and humanitarian workers, saying their services during crises were a source of hope, courage and humanity.
He said that ensuring access to justice and basic services for affected people was essential and that no one should be left helpless during a crisis. He reaffirmed that Pakistan remained committed to human rights, respect for human dignity and the rule of law.
Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar called for greater international cooperation, solidarity and collective responsibility to strengthen humanitarian systems and ensure effective relief and rehabilitation. He said Pakistan remained committed to helping people in need and upholding the values of humanity and human dignity. “Standing with affected people in difficult times is the true essence of humanity,” he said.
The Federal Minister expressed appreciation for the services of all humanitarian and aid workers and acknowledged their invaluable contribution to protecting and supporting vulnerable communities worldwide.
