The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad has arrested an alleged human smuggler accused of swindling Rs 6 million from a complainant on the promise of sending him to Canada.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 19 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad has arrested an alleged human smuggler accused of swindling Rs 6 million from a complainant on the promise of sending him to Canada.
An FIA official told APP on Wednesday that the accused, identified as Nadeem Masih son of Nazir Masih, was arrested during an operation conducted by the AHTC Islamabad.
The investigation revealed that the accused allegedly lured the complainant with the promise of facilitating his travel to Canada and received Rs6 million from him.
The FIA said a case, FIR No. 592/26, had been registered against the accused under Sections 18 and 22 of the Emigration Ordinance, 1979, and Sections 419, 420, 468 and 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The operation was carried out by Inspector Muhammad Azeem and ASI Mazhar Shah.
Further investigation is underway.
