ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP): The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has inaugurated Phase 1 of its national coaching education program, marking a significant step toward modernizing the sport’s technical standards and tactical frameworks across the country.
The opening session was conducted by PHF National Coaching Advisor Herman Kruis, bringing together a dynamic blend of young and experienced Pakistani coaches, said a press release.
Designed as an interactive, highly practical, and objective learning workshop, the session focused on contemporary coaching methodologies, tactical analysis, and modern athlete management.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani attended the inaugural session to observe coach engagement and evaluate the program’s baseline standards.
“Modernizing our coaching ecosystem is fundamental to restoring Pakistan’s competitive edge on the international stage,” said PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani. “Seeing our coaches, both upcoming and veteran, actively engage, ask sharp tactical questions, and embrace structured, modern techniques is deeply encouraging. Executive oversight ensures these programs deliver concrete, long-term impact at every level.”
Participants noted the high level of practical interaction, clear technical objectives, and open Q&A format, providing actionable insights for immediate application in local and regional training camps.
Phase 1 will continue with structured modules designed to establish a standardized national coaching framework, ensuring uniform modern methodologies are taught from grassroots academies up to senior national pools.
