ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (APP): The three-day annual Urs of Bari Imam concluded peacefully in Islamabad after drawing thousands of devotees from different parts of the country between August 15 and 17.
District authorities, police, shrine management, and visitors were thanked for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth conduct of the event.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon praised the efforts of the district administration and police for maintaining order throughout the Urs. He also acknowledged the services of Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Uzair Khan and Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Ali Naeem Sheikh for their role in supervising arrangements during the three-day gathering.
The Urs remained in progress from August 15 to August 17, with district officials carrying out regular inspections to review security, traffic management, and public facilities. The Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner General visited the venue several times to monitor preparations and address operational requirements.
According to the district administration, security measures remained in place throughout the event to ensure the safety of visitors. Senior police officers were also present at the shrine and surrounding areas to oversee security operations and coordinate with administrative teams.
The Deputy Commissioner said that ADC Headquarters Uzair Khan and AC Secretariat Ali Naeem Sheikh remained on-site during the Urs and supervised arrangements from the opening day until the closing ceremony. Their coordination helped ensure that all matters related to crowd management, visitor services, and security were handled in an organized manner.
Authorities also ensured the availability of key facilities for devotees, including food distribution, parking management, and security services. Administrative teams worked in coordination with police personnel and shrine officials to facilitate visitors and maintain the flow of activities during the event.
At the conclusion of the Urs, the Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to the shrine management, police officers, district administration staff, and visitors for their cooperation. He said the successful and peaceful completion of the three-day event reflected the collective efforts of all departments and participants involved in its organization.
