ANF seizes over 76 kg of drugs, arrests nine suspects

RAWALPINDI, Aug 18 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday conducted eight operations in various cities across the country and arrested nine suspects, including a woman, recovering 76.836 kilograms (kg) of drugs worth more than Rs 9.1 million.
According to an ANF spokesman, 21 capsules containing 861 grams of ice were recovered from the abdomens of a man and a woman travelling to Jeddah at Islamabad International Airport.
At Multan Airport, 1.017 kg of ice was recovered from the luggage of a passenger travelling to Riyadh, and was arrested.
In another operation at Lahore Airport, 7.558 kg of ice was recovered from a bag belonging to a passenger travelling to Riyadh.
During domestic interdiction operations, 36 kg of hashish was recovered from an unattended vehicle parked in a hospital parking area in Hayatabad, Peshawar. In another operation near a hospital in Hayatabad, 2.4 kg of hashish was recovered from an individual.
During inter-provincial operations, 12 kg of hashish was seized from a vehicle near Fateh Jang Toll Plaza, while 9 kg of hashish was recovered from another vehicle near Sangjani Toll Plaza, Islamabad.
Near Sakhi Sarwar Toll Plaza in Dera Ghazi Khan, 8 kg of ice was recovered from a vehicle and two suspects were arrested.
Cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigation is underway.
