PESHAWAR, Aug 18 (APP):Bannu police on Tuesday foiled a major terror attempt by recovering and safely defusing suspected explosive material near the University of Science and Technology Township.
According to a police spokesperson, Township Police Station SHO Javed Rasool Khan, along with a police team, immediately reached the site after receiving information about the suspicious material and cordoned off the area.
The Bomb Disposal Unit also arrived at the scene and safely neutralised the explosive material, averting a potential major incident in Bannu.
The police said the timely action helped protect Township and adjoining areas from possible damage. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
