QUETTA, Aug 18 (APP):Security forces continued intelligence-based operations (IBOs) against terrorists in various areas of Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, killing at least nine terrorists.
Security sources said that the security forces conducted a major intelligence-based operation in the mountainous area between Ziarat and Harnai following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists.
During the operation, the security forces cordoned off a terrorist hideout and effectively targeted the location, killing eight terrorists. The hideout was also destroyed during the operation, they said.
In a separate operation in Hajika village of Surab district, the security forces killed another terrorist. The sources said a check post was established between Dasht Katai and Hajika, enabling security personnel to track the movement of the terrorists.
A huge quantity of ammunition, magazines, hand grenades, walkie-talkies, a motorcycle and other equipment was recovered from the killed terrorists, the sources said.
Security forces remain committed to continuing operations in Balochistan until terrorism is completely eliminated and lasting peace is established, the security sources said.
