RPO urges youth to lead Pakistan towards peace, progress
FAISALABAD, Aug 17 (APP):Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera has called upon the youth to use their knowledge, abilities and positive thinking to serve the country and play a leading role in transforming Pakistan into a strong, peaceful and prosperous nation.
Addressing a special Azadi function at Aspire College Khurarianwala, he said that the spirit of Independence Day reminded the nation of its loyalty to the homeland, national unity and the responsibilities attached to citizenship.
He said that role of the younger generation was crucial for Pakistan’s development, stability and peace.
He urged students to channel their talent, education and constructive thinking towards the service of the country and nation, emphasizing that a progressive and stable Pakistan could be built through the active and responsible participation of its youth.
Speaking about the growing menace of drug abuse, he described young people as the country’s precious asset and said that protecting them from narcotics was a collective responsibility of the entire society.
He warned that no leniency would be shown towards the elements involved in luring young people into drug use. Strict legal action would be taken against such individuals in accordance with the law, he added.
He, however, stressed that law enforcement alone could not effectively prevent drug abuse. The education, awareness and proper guidance by parents and teachers were equally important tools in protecting the younger generation from the menace, he added.
He urged students to remain vigilant, make healthy and constructive choices and seek guidance from their parents and teachers whenever they faced difficulties or pressures that could expose them to harmful influences.
The ceremony also featured a special prayer for the security, stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
On arrival at the college, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera was warmly received by Director Javed Asghar and other members of the college staff.
Later, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera distributed prizes among position-holder students of Aspire College Khurarianwala and appreciated their outstanding academic achievements, encouraging them to maintain their pursuit of excellence and contribute positively to society.
A large number of students, both male and female, teachers and college administration attended the Azadi function.
Meanwhile, Regional Police spokesperson Muhammad Shahbaz said that the participation of students, teachers and college management reflected the spirit of national unity and provided an opportunity to reinforce the message of patriotism, responsible citizenship and a drug-free future among the youth.
