Gold price rises Rs2,000 per tola

ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (APP):The price of gold in the country witnessed an upward trend on Monday, with the price of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs2,000 per tola to Rs461,936, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold of 10 grams increased by Rs1,715 to Rs396,035, while the price of 22-karat gold of 10 grams rose by Rs1,572 to Rs363,045.
In the international market, gold was quoted at $4,395 per ounce, showing an increase of $20.
Meanwhile, the price of silver also witnessed an increase, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs80 per tola to Rs7,029.
The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams increased by Rs69 to Rs6,026, while international silver was quoted at $65.50 per ounce, up by $0.80.
The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
