Martyrdom anniversary of General Akhtar Abdur Rahman observed with reverence

RAWALPINDI, Aug 17 (APP):The martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed General Akhtar Abdur Rahman was observed with great reverence and respect here on Monday.

A large number of people visited his grave at the Army Graveyard in Rawalpindi, where they laid wreaths and offered Fateha. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Na’at and special prayers for the forgiveness and elevation of the martyr’s ranks.

Participants paid rich tribute to General Akhtar Abdur Rahman for his outstanding military services, invaluable contributions to national security, and supreme sacrifice in defence of Pakistan.The participants reaffirmed that the sacrifices and services of the nation’s brave sons would always be remembered with honour, respect and pride.
