Aerial firing lands seven behind bars in ICT Police crackdown

ISLAMABAD, Aug 16 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Khanna Police Station apprehended seven suspects allegedly involved in aerial firing, recovering illegal weapons and ammunition from their possession in a swift operation in the federal capital.
An ICT Police official told APP on Sunday that the action was taken immediately after police received information about aerial firing within the jurisdiction of Khanna Police Station.
The official said that on the directions of SP Soan Zone Khurram Ashraf, SHO Khanna Police Station Shahid Zaman, along with his team, rushed to the spot and apprehended seven suspects allegedly involved in the firing.
Police also recovered illegal weapons and ammunition from the possession of the suspects, while legal proceedings were initiated against them.
The official said aerial firing posed a serious threat to human life and Islamabad Police would show zero tolerance towards illegal weapons, display of arms and aerial firing.
He said strict and indiscriminate legal action would continue against those who endangered the lives and property of citizens through such unlawful activities.
