LAHORE, Aug 15 (APP): IG Punjab Abdul Karim has praised the police force for the excellent security arrangements and peaceful organization of the celebrations across the province on the occasion of Independence Day.
He appreciated the performance of CCPO Lahore, RPOs and DPOs, including other senior officers. During the Independence Day, the Punjab Police cracked down hard on one-wheeling, aerial firing and other law-breaking activities.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Police, 108 law-breaking elements involved in various violations were arrested and 91 cases were registered across the province, including Lahore.
Likewise, 101 accused were arrested and 85 cases were registered against one-wheeling across the province, while 6 accused involved in aerial firing were arrested and 5 cases were registered. According to the spokesperson, 55 law-breaking elements were also arrested in Lahore for various violations and 42 cases were registered.
