RAWALPINDI, Aug 15 (APP):Ambassador of Spain to Pakistan, H.E. Carlos Aragón Gil de la Serna, visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (RCCI) to hold a bilateral meeting with RCCI leadership lead by President Usman Shaukat aimed at bolstering economic, commercial and cultural relations between Pakistan and Spain.
The meeting was attended by RCCI Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas, former presidents, Executive Committee members, and local business leaders.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat emphasized the need for stronger business-to-business (B2B) connections, improved market access, and joint investment initiatives. He noted that Spain represents a key market for Pakistani exports particularly textiles, rice, ethanol, potatoes and maize, following recent consultations between both nations on forming a Joint Working Group on Agriculture.
He added that Pakistan could leverage Spanish technological expertise in modern agriculture, precision farming, advanced irrigation, mechanization, greenhouse systems, and water management.
To highlight Pakistan’s manufacturing sector and growing bilateral ties, Usman Shaukat presented the Spanish Ambassador with a FIFA World Cup football produced in Pakistan.
During his visit, the ambassador also joined RCCI leadership in celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with a cake-cutting ceremony, reinforcing cultural and people-to-people ties.
The discussion concluded with a mutual resolve to enhance institutional linkages, investment flows, and trade cooperation.
