ICCI BoC Istanbul: opens new chapter in Pakistan–Türkiye trade investment relations
ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP):The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) convened an impressive Business Opportunity Conference (BoC) in Istanbul on Thursday, bringing together leading Pakistani and Turkish business figures from diverse sectors to explore new avenues of trade, investment, joint ventures and business-to-business partnerships between the two brotherly countries.
Pakistan Consul General in Istanbul Khawaja Khurram Naeem attended the prestigious conference and actively engaged with Turkish participants, responding to their questions and highlighting Pakistan’s growing trade and investment potential, as well as the improving business and investment environment.
His participation added an important diplomatic and commercial dimension to the proceedings.
Addressing the conference, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood presented a comprehensive overview of business and investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly highlighting initiatives being undertaken by the Government of Pakistan, under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant ministries to facilitate investors, promote exports and strengthen Pakistan’s integration with international markets.
A large number of prominent Turkish enterprises participated in the conference and showed keen interest in exploring investment and commercial opportunities in Pakistan. During an interactive session, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, former ICCI Presidents Aamir Waheed Sheikh, Mohammad Ejaz Abbasi and Dr. Adeel Sami, Founder and President of the Pakistan–Türkiye Investment & Development Council (PTIDC), responded to questions from Turkish business leaders and discussed practical avenues for cooperation.
The discussions focused on converting the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye into stronger economic partnerships through B2B linkages, investment collaboration, joint ventures, technology transfer, industrial cooperation and greater market access. Participants from both sides emphasized the need for sustained private-sector engagement to unlock the considerable untapped potential in bilateral economic relations.
Business leaders from Pakistan and Türkiye termed the conference a milestone in strengthening the commercial and investment relationship between the two countries, expressing optimism that the interaction would lead to concrete business deals and long-term partnerships rather than remaining limited to dialogue.
The conference is part of ICCI’s broader international outreach strategy to position Pakistan as an attractive destination for foreign investment and to connect Pakistani enterprises directly with global markets. At present, a large ICCI delegation comprising around 200 members is in Istanbul, reflecting the Chamber’s strong commitment to expanding Pakistan–Türkiye economic engagement at the private-sector level.
The ICCI delegation will also participate in an International Awards Ceremony in Istanbul tonight, further strengthening the platform for recognition, networking and high-level business engagement between the business communities of Pakistan and Türkiye.
