Over 3,000 motorcycles seized in Independence Day traffic crackdown

LAHORE, Aug 15 (APP):Traffic police launched a crackdown against reckless driving,speeding,dangerous stunts and other violations of traffic rules during the two-day Independence Day celebrations.
According to police,more than 3,000 motorcycles were impounded during the operation while cases were registered against people involved in one-wheeling and dangerous driving at various police stations.
Five cases were registered against individuals involved in one-wheeling,while another five cases were registered for speeding,dangerous stunts and blocking roads.
Police took action against car drivers involved in drifting, with two cases registered in this regard.
During the crackdown,666 challans were issued for wrong-way driving, while 614 challans were issued to motorcyclists carrying three passengers.Police took action against 3,351 motorcyclists for riding without helmets.
Officials said that enforcement action against dangerous driving and other illegal activities would continue to protect the lives and property of citizens and ensure strict implementation of traffic laws.
