ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): Pakistani diplomatic missions across the globe celebrated the nation’s Independence Day with traditional fervor and patriotic passion, hosting vibrant ceremonies across embassies, high commissions, and consulates in capitals worldwide.
The day’s proceedings commenced with dignified flag-hoisting ceremonies led by Pakistan’s envoys, accompanied by the playing of the national anthem.
As the green and white national flag unfurled in the missions, the gatherings resonated with patriotic fervor as national songs were played, paying homage to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers.
During the events, special messages from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar were read out to the gatherings.

INDIA
The High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi celebrated the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan with tradition zeal and fervor.

Warraich said that Pakistan’s nuclear capability was a stabilizing factor in South Asia.He said that the Marka-e-Haq stands testimony to our unswerving resolve to protect and preserve the nation’s sovereignty and the dignity of our people. Paying homage to the great martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, the Chargé d’ Affaires also lauded the role of the Pakistan armed forces in national defence.
Dressed in traditional attire, children performed national songs and delivered speeches, highlighting the historic struggle for the creation of Pakistan.A special cake was also cut on this auspicious occasion.
Saad Ahmad Warraich also inaugurated a photo exhibition depicting the life, vision, and historic struggle of Quaid-i-Azam, especially curated to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the nation’s founder, this year.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul commemorated Pakistan’s 79th Independence Anniversary at a dignified flag hoisting ceremony.
Ambassador Ubaid Ur Rehman Nizamani hoisted the Pakistani flag. In his remarks, the ambassador reaffirmed the vision outlined in the leadership’s messages and recalled the unparalleled struggle of the founding forefathers that had led to the emergence of an independent homeland.
Recalling the courage and commitment of the country’s security forces in the face of internal and external threats, the Ambassador reaffirmed the nation’s firm resolve in overcoming these challenges. He also underscored Pakistan’s stabilizing role in promoting global peace, stability and regional cooperation.
The event brought together Pakistanis working at various UN agencies and other international organizations, professionals and students in Afghanistan.

The Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi organized a flag hoisting ceremony at its premises to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of Pakistan with national zeal and enthusiasm.
A large number of Pakistani community members along with their families attended the event.
Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates Shafqat Ali Khan hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan urged the community members to continue playing their constructive role in the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

Referring to the role of Pakistani community in the UAE, the ambassador appreciated their contribution in the development of the UAE as well as their support to the national economy through their hard-earned remittances; and serving as a bridge between the two brotherlynations.
The ambassador thanked the Government of the UAE for its longstanding hospitality towards more than 2.2 million Pakistanis and for the care and support extended to the community in almost every aspect of their lives, besides appealing the community to pay due reverence to the local laws and be a law-abiding citizens of the UAE.
During the ceremony, children from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Arab Pakistan School sang patriotic songs with enthusiasm. The children also joined the Ambassador in Independence Day Cake Cutting.

The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony attended by a large number of Pakistani community members, officers and officials of the Consulate, and other guests.
Addressing the gathering, Fawad Ali Khan, Acting Consul General of Pakistan, extended heartfelt felicitations to the Pakistani community on the occasion of Independence Day. He said that 14 August was not merely a date in the national calendar, but a symbol of freedom, sacrifice, determination and national identity.

Ambassador Baloch said that as we celebrate our freedom we should remember our Kashmiri and Palestinian brothers and sisters, who have been struggling for over seven decades for their freedom and right to self-determination. She reaffirmed Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support to the people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine for their legitimate rights.
Ambassador also appreciated the contributions of Pakistani diaspora in France in promoting Pakistan-France relations. She reiterated Embassy’s fully commitment to continue to facilitate Pakistanis based in France.

SAUDI ARABIA

On Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day, a graceful flag hoisting ceremony was held at the state of the art Chancery building of Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah. Consul General of Pakistan Syed Mustafa Rabbani led the ceremony, joined by a large Pakistani community who witnessed with great pride and honour as the national flag rose in the backlight of the national anthem.
Consul General Syed Mustafa Rabbani, in his remarks, highlighted the significance of the day, and payed tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan. He highlighted country’s achievements in various fields including diplomacy and dialogue to facilitate peace and stability in the region and beyond.
He further highlighted that Makkah Joint Defense Agreement further strengthens cooperation and collective defense and growing strategic confidence and partnership between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. People of Pakistan are grateful to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia for their continued support for Pakistan.

He also expressed his deep admiration for the Pakistani community living in Jeddah and their contribution towards promoting the economic development of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and brotherly relation between the two countries.
A pictorial exhibition of Quaid-e-Azam, Father of Nation was inaugurated and opened for public. Exhibition is carrying almost 100 historical pictures covering various aspects and phases of Quaid-e-Azam’s life and Pakistan movement.
AZERBAIJAN
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Baku commemorated the Independence Day of Pakistan with national fervour during a ceremony held at the Chancery.

In his address, Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin paid homage to the vision and founding principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. He underscored that through the Government’s initiatives, Pakistan has made significant strides across all sectors.
The Ambassador also highlighted the deep-rooted, fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, built upon a foundation of mutual trust, shared values, and a common historical and cultural heritage.
Reflecting the strong cultural bonds between our brotherly countries, Azerbaijani Urdu scholar Mr. Rovshan Shiranxali and Baku State University student Ms. Nazrin Shahgeldiyeva delivered speeches in Urdu on the achievements of Pakistan’s founding fathers. A flag-hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan House, Tehran which was attended by Pakistani diaspora. Addressing the audience, Ambassador of Pakistan to Iran Imran Ahmed Siddiqui congratulated Pakistani community members and thanked them for participating in the celebrations.
He emphasized on their contributions and efforts in socio economic shares of Iran and promotion of bilateral relations.

He referred to the determination of both governments to enhance the trade volume upto 10 billion dollars for which the Pakistani community is a great stakeholder.
The children of Pakistan Embassy International School & College, Tehran presented a national song. A collective prayer was also offered for all those who laid their lives to get this homeland. In the end a cake was also cut to celebrate Independence Day.

GERMANY

The Independence Day ceremony hosted by Embassy of Pakistan in Berlin started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the unfurling of the national flag by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Germany Saqlain Syedah. The national anthems of Pakistan and Germany were played at the ceremony.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing held a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony. Charge d’ affaires Aizaz Khan hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.
In his remarks, Charge d’Affaires, Aizaz Khan extended warm felicitations to the Pakistani community in China. He highlighted that Pakistan and China are commemorating 75 years of establishment of their diplomatic relations, which are seeped into deep-rooted friendship and trust.
He also appreciated the constructive role of the Pakistani diaspora in contributing towards national development and further strengthening bilateral ties through people-to-people exchanges.
The ceremony also featured a photo exhibition, showcasing the various facets of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s life. The students of Pakistan Embassy College Beijing also gave performances on the occasion, conveying the message of steadfastness, perseverance and hard work.
