RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): A dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) Rawalpindi to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, with Member National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Aurangzeb and Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab Shazia Rizwan attending as chief guests.
Both the dignitaries along with Medical Superintendent (MS) BBH, Dr. Sharjeel hoisted the national flag after receiving a formal guard of honor. Dr. Sharjeel subsequently conducted a tour of various clinical departments and briefed the guests on the medical facilities and patient care provided at the hospital.
Addressing the ceremony, MNA Tahira Aurangzeb stated that Independence Day serves as a day of national renewal, honoring the sacrifices of ancestors who secured a free homeland. She emphasized that safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and contributing to its stability remain collective responsibilities.
Highlighting the public’s unwavering support for the state, Tahira Aurangzeb noted that the nation stands firmly alongside the Pakistan Armed Forces and all key national institutions. She urged citizens to adhere to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal to build a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan.
The ceremony, attended by a large number of foctors, paramedical staff and hospital administration concluded with special prayers offered for national security, peace and progress.
