Independence Day: PBS vows to play more effective role in national development

The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday reaffirmed its resolve to play a more effective role in national development by producing and disseminating reliable, timely and credible official statistics, as it marked the country’s 80th Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony at its headquarters.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday reaffirmed its resolve to play a more effective role in national development by producing and disseminating reliable, timely and credible official statistics, as it marked the country’s 80th Independence Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony at its headquarters.
Chief Statistician PBS Dr. Naeem Uz Zafar (SI) hoisted the national flag at a solemn yet festive ceremony attended by senior officers, officials and their families.
Director General (Admin) Munawar Ali Ghanghro, Deputy Directors General Rabia Awan and Shaukat Ali Khan, JACC Naveed Iqbal, and Directors Rizwana Siddique, Rafiq Talpur and Qazi Saeed-ul-Hassan, besides other senior officers and officials of PBS Headquarters, participated in the ceremony.
The flag-hoisting ceremony reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride, while the participation of PBS officers and officials reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out the Bureau’s mandate with dedication, professionalism, integrity and a strong sense of national responsibility.
The presence of children of PBS officers and officials added a special touch to the Independence Day celebrations.
Their enthusiastic participation and patriotic spirit brought vibrancy to the ceremony and provided an opportunity to inspire the younger generation with the values of national unity, service and love for Pakistan.
On the occasion, the participants paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founders and all those who contributed to the creation and progress of Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed resolve by the PBS officers and officials to continue serving the country and play a more effective role in its development through the production and dissemination of reliable, timely and credible official statistics.
