RAWALPINDI, Aug 14 (APP): Rawalpindi Cantt Board organized a dignified ceremony at its main office to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, demonstrating deep patriotism, national unity, and solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan.
The event was attended by Additional CEO Zia Hussain, Cantonment Board Member Zahid Bakhtawari, Board Secretary Imran Habib, along with a large number of officers and staff members. The ceremony featured the hoisting of the national flag, followed by an Independence Day cake-cutting ceremony.
Participants expressed complete solidarity with the Armed Forces while chanting patriotic slogans.
During the ceremony, participants expressed great satisfaction over the historic defense agreement signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye in Makkah, terming it a significant milestone for regional peace, mutual cooperation, and defense solidarity. Special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of Pakistan, national security, progress, and economic stability.
Major thoroughfares and official buildings under the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board were illuminated with green and white lights. The ceremony concluded with a unanimous pledge that the nation’s freedom, achieved through the supreme sacrifices of millions, will be safeguarded through collective unity, discipline, and dedicated service to the motherland.
