80th Independence Day: Japan reaffirms ties ahead of 75 years of diplomatic relations

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP): As Pakistan marks its 80th Independence Day on August 14, Japan has extended congratulations and renewed its commitment to stronger bilateral cooperation ahead of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027.

In a message marking the occasion, Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Akamatsu Shuichi, highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two countries and pledged continued collaboration for peace, development, and stability.

The Ambassador conveyed greetings on behalf of the Government and people of Japan to Pakistan’s government and citizens on the country’s Independence Day.

In a video message, Ambassador Akamatsu said Japan values its relationship with Pakistan and looks forward to celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations in 2027. He noted that both countries have worked together over the decades and will continue to strengthen cooperation in different fields.

The envoy said Japan and Pakistan remain trusted partners and share a commitment to promoting peace, progress, and regional stability. He added that both nations would continue efforts to deepen mutual understanding and expand friendly relations in the years ahead.

Reaffirming the bond between the two countries, Ambassador Akamatsu expressed confidence in the future of Japan-Pakistan relations and reiterated Japan’s support for continued engagement and cooperation.

Concluding his message, he highlighted the enduring friendship between the two nations with the slogan, “Japan-Pakistan Dosti Zindabad.”
